I am a college student a the Community College of Vermont. I am take a class called Interpersonal Small group Communications. The class is split into groups and we need to do individals presentations. Our group chose values and I chose to do it on Corporate vales. Topic is: "The poor staying poor and the rich staying rich." I know that the Middle class is fading away could you give me any insight on the poor, the middle class and the rich. That could help me in the work pregression of my paper. Something that I should know that I don't already. I know what it's like to be poor or should I say unfinancially stable and with the price of gas these days I feel that if you are not rich you might never make it in this world. Could you give me any other in put and I will definitely quote your opinion in my paper.
Thanks Jen T.

As you say, the question is how long can Rove (and many others like him) keep America ignorant and aenesthetised to their own plight. The problem is, American culture worships ignorance. We *love* "thinking with our guts" and everyone knows that anyone with brains is a nerd and gets beat up. When school administrations aren't encouraging this, they're ignoring it. The problem, and, I fear, the only solution, is that as the middle class dissapears the economy collapses. Automation isn't coming fast enough to 'outsource' many low-wage jobs, like janitor, bus-driver, etc. before their wages can no longer support them. As health benefits decline, so does worker productivity, and with a sick populace the elite start getting sick too. Even though they can afford care, they're still sick, and missing work, and losing their competetive edge against health bosses with healthy workers. Etc., etc. I just don't know how we (by "we" I mean the rational, thinking person concerned about his own future ability to live comfortably and, gasp!, retire decently) fix this before cataclysm.
